What is the formation of a New State?

LAW AND SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION IN INDIA
Linguistic states formation.
Soon after Independence, the movement to create states based on language gained momentum. In the yearly 1950’s the Telugu speaking peoples started demanding a separate state. A railway employee and Gandhian, Potti Sriramulu, started a fast to press this demand. Nehru chose to ignore Sriramulu’s fast. On the 56th day of his past, Sriramulu died and violence erupted. After his death, the state on linguistic lines and Hyderabad was merged with Telugu-speaking parts of Madras to form Andhra Pradesh.
What is the formation of a New State?
According to Article 3 of the Constitution, Parliament can from a new state separating territory from any state or by merging two or more states or parts of states. It can also diminish or increase the area or alter the boundary of any state or change its Name. But first, a bill has to be the proposed change. Once the president has ascertained the views, a resolution is tabled before the assembly. Once the resolution is passed by the assembly, it has to pass a bill. Finally, a separate bill is introduced and passed in Parliament on the recommendation of the President. Once this bill is ratified by the president, the new state is formed.
